Pekin Downtown Farmers Market is 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays from July 13 to Sept. 14 next to the courthouse on Capitol Street. Live entertainment on the courthouse lawn.

Morton Farmers Market is 7 to 11 a.m. Saturdays from June 10 to Sept. 9 in the parking lot of Carius Dairy Queen on Main Street.

The CHIP restaurant program works with local restaurants to offer items that are low in fat, cholesterol and salt, and high in fiber. When you see the CHIP logo on the door of a local eatery, you can feel confident you have selected a restaurant that provides nutritious, high-quality food.
A not-for-profit organization established to supplement the health education efforts of Illinois schools, families, civic groups, youth organizations, social agencies, businesses, churches, and health care institutions.
A site sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, you'll find information on over 100 pharmaceutical manufacturers' patient assistance programs, including programs that offer free prescription medications for eligible patients. The Web site's database can be searched by manufacturer name, medication (branded or generic name) or therapeutic class and displays each company's program criteria guidelines along with step-by-step application instructions. When available from the manufacturer, actual application forms are posted online for the patient or caregiver to complete as required by the manufacturer.
A site designed to give low-income patients access to medications they cannot afford. This site also posts drug information by manufacturer, drug name or category, listing over 900 medications from 145 companies. The Web site provides information on how to enroll in the charitable programs, policies regarding refills and limits, and procedures for dispensing.
